Delaying of Dubai Port Deal Brings Port Authority Grief

The furor over a company from the United Arab Emirates operating terminals at the Port of Newark has been nearly matched this week by turmoil surrounding its exit.

Over the past year, DP World, the port operator owned by the royal Maktoum family of Dubai, has been under stiff political pressure to sell its rights to run terminals in ports around the United States. So in December, DP World reached an agreement estimated at more than a billion dollars to sell its leases to A.I.G. Global Investment Group, an arm of the American insurance giant.

    Wrong, wrong and real wrong.

First of all it is KBR that holds the contract with the military now, not Halliburton because Halliburton doesn't own KBR anymore. But even if it did, you're still severely wrong in your facts.

KBR reported the unacceptable grounding conditions of the palace(s) to the military. KBR did not have a contract to rewire the palace(s). The military did not act on KBR's reports of dangerous condtions. The military did not request repair work to fix same.

This has been covered extensively in the MSM - I'm not sure how the OP could miss the facts as bad as he did.

In answer to this I posted this...

Thanksgiving has robbed me the time yet to view every video and follow every link, but I will, count on it.

I find it laughable that our world leaders push global warming down our throats as another extortion racket

and then proceed to build their new world power center at sea level and expect no one to notice

even with all the latest info and attacks on the global warming scam that has Gore mumbling "I have failed...", I still bet no one notices and things keep on going the way they have been

Maybe this sheik got the answer but he left the planet a while ago.

I think Allah got the answer but I can't translate this one

Are these the Lemmings you talk about Zorgon?

Lemmings don't commit mass suicide. The film crew, um, pushed them. The horror starts at about 10:30

Or is there another reference to you mentioning the Lemmings?

Re: DUBAI and YOUR Gas Dollars at Work

    hmmm

I just finished watching all the videos and reading most of the links as I have been exposed to the KBR scandals. And although horrifying and unacceptable I find it typical yet would like to see this as well as countless other atrocities brought before a world court, but I ain't holding my breath.

I wonder what will be typical 20 years from now? (barring no corrections)

    Concerning Dubai

This is a little eerie to me in a way I have no explanation for

On the surface it seems Bush Co and friends are simply raping the world and building a resort heaven to languish around in during their well earned retirement with their Arab friends who helped set up the whole terrorism machine that made all this possible in the first place.

Yet I sense a disturbance in the force with this place. Something dark and sinister has taken root and is growing there, or moving there from somewhere else. They are building this place fast as if they are preparing for something quickly. Setting something up that will become important to them later.

Headquarters for the new world order is a light, unappreciative headliner for this place, and I feel there is alot more to it. I read up on the history of Dubai and the other emirates and nothing is clicking yet. Bah maybe I am just spooked.

I had been watching the construction of these islands for a few years using the satellite photos available from several online sources. There doesn't seem to be ANY concern of being right at sea level. Isn't that interesting.

Re: DUBAI and YOUR Gas Dollars at Work

I poked around a little poking today looking for Dubai conspiracies

I read stories about arms smuggling using these ports

    Drug smuggling operations too

    Russian money laundering schemes

    Israeli boycotts being broken

I found that the UAE does NOT have an extradition treaty with the US.

Seems the world financial crisis has even reached Dubai:

Global market tremors reach Dubai shores
    12 Oct 2008, 0357 hrs IST, TNN

Analysts say shares in Dubai Financial Market have lost 48% of their value.

On October 9, Emaar developers fell from 15.7 dirhams to 5.5. Add to this an ongoing investigation into Dubai Islamic Bank reportedly under way on charges of "illegal profits" and the ground does look shaky. If that weren't enough, authorities have merged two of the bigger developers. Analysts estimate that more such mergers are likely in the future, and profit levels are sure to decline.
    but then I read:

Is Dubai the Bubble It’s Made Out to be?

    By Bill Bonner • August 28th, 2008

"Jumeirah Beach Residence (or JBR for the cool kids) is a 36-building project that opened a year or so ago. Each building is around 40 stories and there is said to be space for 25,000 people to live here. But where are the people, I ask myself? So few apartments are occupied that I still notice when a conspicuous new light comes on at night in the surrounding buildings...yet, apparently, most are sold. I can't see the newbies rushing to cut more keys as rent prices have, get this, risen by over 50% since we moved in in December. We took a relatively comfortable two-bedroom with a decent view, but if I walked in off the street today I couldn't get a studio on the first floor for the same price.
    and then I asked myself:

are they trying to sell property or is it an already planned, bought and paid for empire that just doesn't have the resident owners living there...yet. It doesn't seem so stupid to be so lavish and create a basically unsustainable city when you aren't worried about a city's functionality, just infrastructure, for a future date.

Fantasy Island for the criminally inclined definitely.

About 8 yrs ago, I had one of my better brain farts (they do happen) concerning this. It concerned a high speed rail system, which would begin with conventional power, but the whole system designed with mag-lev as the intended final power.

The west coast could sure use it. San Diego, Ontario, Frisco, and eventually Portland and Seattle. How to finance it? Ah... Ontario is the key.

The system would begin with, and eventually financed to a large degree, by a line from Ontario (here by me), to Vegas. When you think of just the short haul air flights, and the weekly caravan of busses and cars it would replace, it wouldn't take long for this run to finance building of the rest of it.

    Ontario because,
    1. It is still open enough to have the parking, and other fascilities to be a good terminal for SoCal. It is far out enough to make it easier to run the rest of the line in fairly open territory.
    2. The fact you could probably build the run to Vegas in as few as 4 straight line runs, makes it both fast, and cheap.

The fact you are running perpendicular to a lot of faults can be dealt with using seismic sensors, and continual laser detection for track mis-alignment. Shut down, or speed limiting a section, preventing derailments.

Hey, I was smokin' the good stuff that day, so my brain farts were in technicolor. Granted this one came before the handbasket to hell showed up for the economy.

meanwhile, Dubai gets water parks with gold bathroom fixtures, and we get a ghost town called Lake Dolores. Lucky us.
Life IS mystical! It's just that we're used to it.
